FlexiSPY VS. StealthGenie iPhone Which Is The Best For Spying On Viber?
BREAKING NEWS: The StealthGenie Site Is Offline
It should be added that for the time being, StealthGenie have gone offline. If you’re one of the purchasers of this software, and are unable to contact StealthGenie support, or couldn’t get a StealthGenie refund, then we recommend that you head over to the FlexiSPY Trade In Program, where they will take StealthGenie off your hands.
In this article, we take a look at the differences between FlexiSPY and StealthGenie for iPhone when spying on Viber IM messages.
StealthGenie claims to capture Viber chat logs, call records (Viber calls) and the Viber contact names and phone numbers. We found that it did capture Viber call logs and the text only part of Viber chat logs; however, it does not capture any shared media which plays an important role in the full meaning of an IM conversation (pictures, location, stickers etc.). These were either not captured at all, or only a blank entry appeared in that part of the logs.
Understanding the full meaning of an IM conversation often requires more than the text only part of that conversation. StealthGenie captured 3 of 11 types of Viber’s chat content. It also displayed the contact phone number but this is already available from the contacts log and is not part of the actual conversation. FlexiSPY accurately captured 9 of the 11 media types commonly shared through Viber, providing a much more complete capture of the full conversation.
StealthGenie’s chat logs are displayed in a basic spreadsheet form with sequential rows and columns, while FlexiSPY’s layout has each contact on alternating sides for easy readability. Aside from Viber, StealthGenie for iPhone also claims to capture Facebook, iMessage, Skype, WhatsApp and BBM. StealthGenie’s inability to capture shared rich content also extended to these other IM services we tested. We look at each of these in other articles from this series.
Is rich media really so important?
Sharing rich content is a regular part of today’s chatting experience, as IM apps now support a variety of means to express emotion and communicate even more than words, without the words. If a picture is sent by a contact and your target user replies “I would love that,” then without seeing the picture you can’t know if your target is referring to the peaceful waves of the ocean blue, or something far more sensual and… Mediterranean. If they say, “Meet me here” and send location data or a video clip that says, “I want you,” you’ll miss this entirely if location and videos can’t be captured. Missing these crucial gaps can also leave the captured text meaningless without context.
Popular IMs like Viber offer a rich variety of content for adventurous and flirtatious chatting; including stickers, emoticons, audio messaging, pictures, video clips and location data. It’s important that a cell phone monitoring app such as FlexiSPY captures much more data than text alone, which you’ll need to understand the full meaning of what is really said in those chats.
Here are the 11 Viber rich content and media elements we tested as sample data:
- Contact Name
- Contact Picture
- Text
- Doodles
- Photos
- Videos
- Emoticons
- Stickers
- Audio Messages
- Location
- Viber Call Logs
We tested these between both StealthGenie and FlexiSPY. You can see in the screenshot Figure 2 how StealthGenie captured some of them.
StealthGenie Viber Logs
Although StealthGenie did capture contact names and the Viber text messages themselves, multimedia and other shared messages were either not indicated at all or were replaced with a mysterious blank entry as shown in our SG screenshot (Figure 2). Only basic text is captured in these logs. The empty rows indicate parts of the conversation which couldn’t be captured, and we are left wondering what could be missed. SG did also capture the Viber call logs (not the actual recorded calls – you can’t listen to them) in a different area. This is a total score of 3 from 11 possible Viber communication types.
How does FlexiSPY capture Viber?
FlexiSPY captured 9 of 11 types of Viber chat log and shared messaging content, as opposed to 3 from SG. This included contact names and profile pictures, all text chat, shared locations with map data, photos and video clips. Even the stickers and unique Viber doodles were captured, plus the Viber call logs.
FlexiSPY logs are laid out in the familiar and readable style of separating conversation between alternate sides of the screen. This gives FlexiSPY a total score of 9 out of 11 Viber communication types. You can see the difference in the screenshot Figure 3.
FlexiSPY captures more Viber IM data than any other cell phone monitoring software, including StealthGenie. That means knowing more of what your target is sharing of themselves online, and what they’re truly saying with a reply like “I want that!” to a picture you can’t see when using StealthGenie.
If you don’t want to miss the differences that make the real difference in IM communications, FlexiSPY is the only choice. FlexiSPY also captures other popular IM services summarized in the table below and in the blog article here. These are compared in other articles from this series.
